Slovenian Rectors' Conference at a glance

The Slovenian Rectors' Conference is a body entitled to represent universities and to protect their interests. It may deliver an opinion on any issue with relevance to the operation of the higher education system and make proposals for decision-makers or those in charge of preparing decisions. The association was formed in the year 2005. It's activity is supported by the Secretariat.

National cooperation

The Slovenian Rectors' Conference is entitled to pursue the following activities, in particular:

  • to promote co-operation between the universities and the Government;
  • to conduct research, to compile documentation, to elaborate and present proposals to the Government or the bodies of the Government;
  • to establish and maintain international contacts for supporting the internationalization of Slovenian Higher Education;

International cooperation

The Slovenian Rectors Conference is actively involved in projects of the European Commission and the European Universities Association (EUA):

  • EUA European Platform of universities engaged in the Energy/Energy Technology Research;
  • Multi-dimensional Global University Ranking project;
  • Human Resources Strategy Forum Project (the process of implementation of The European Charter for Researchers and The Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers);
  • EUA Research policy Working Group (RPWG);
  • Survey on New Knowledge Transfer Policies 2009.

In 2008 The Slovenian Rectors' Conference signed the Declaration of Commitment by Slovenian Universities on the Adoption of the European Charter for Researchers and on Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers. By signing the Declaration universities members declare their engagement in implementing the values, principles and overall measures as stated in the European Charter for Researchers and The Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers, adopted by the The Commission of the European Communities in 2005.

The organization is a full member of the European University Association (EUA).

Maribor, 25. september 2020 - Rektorska konferenca Republike Slovenije je na današnji seji v petek dne 25. 9.2020 podprla srečanje s KOSRIS-om za oblikovanje stališč do sprejetja predloga Zakona o znanstvenoraziskovalni in inovacijski dejavnosti ter za pristop k skupnemu dogovoru za vzdržen razvoj Slovenije. Potrebno je namreč določiti inovativne razvojne politike, ki bodo omogočile razvoj področij z veliko dodano vrednostjo za višjo kakovost življenja.

Maribor, 19. junuj 2020 - Rektorska konferenca Republike Slovenije je na seji v petek 19. 06. 2020 gostila vršilca dolžnosti direktorja Javne agencije za raziskovalno dejavnosti Republike Slovenije prof. dr. Blaža Zmazka.

Maribor, 7. april 2020 - Predstavniki Rektorske konference RS ugotavljajo, da so univerze ob polnem zavedanju nastalih razmer zelo uspešno vzpostavile delo na daljavo in sicer tako pri izvajanju izobraževalne in raziskovalne dejavnosti, kot tudi pri vodenju administrativnih procesov, zato lahko univerze tudi v trenutnih razmerah uspešno izvajajo svojo dejavnost. V času izrednih razmer zaradi zmanjševanja širjenja koronavirusa SARS-CoV-2 so se univerze takoj prilagodile novemu načinu študija in tako študentom omogočile tekoče izvajanje vseh pedagoških obveznosti, kjer ni potrebna fizična prisotnost. Vendar pa se univerze zaradi novega načina izvedbe pedagoškega in raziskovalnega procesa trenutno srečujejo z izzivi, ki presegajo veljavno visokošolsko zakonodajo.
